West Exe take over Colyton

Colyton is proving the tournament to enter for West Exe Youth as this year saw the U9s and U10s triumph, taking the trophy home.

This years youngest West Exe team and tournament newbies U7’s , although no winners trophy was available, still managed to remain unbeaten all day, only coming unstuck when they faced each other!

West Exe U10s celebrating victory, pipping 15 other teams to the trophy. Played out of their skin all day only conceding 1 goal in total. Worrying time in the group stages when 2 players fell unwell, with no subs to fall back on, they threw back on the blue shirt and powered to victory.

West Exe U9s returning to the tournament as champions go unbeaten against 6 other teams, managing to win this tournament for a 2nd successive year winning 2-0 in the final. The U7s looking smart and gaining their first taste of tournament fun. Going unbeaten is no mean feat, the future is looking bright for Steve and his team.

To have 2 teams winning back to back tournament here and now the U7s looking strong too, we may not be allowed back in Colyton……..

2018/2019 Presentation Day

The clubs annual presentation day was held at Exeter Saracens rugby club. Moving from its regular venue of Crealy, much effort had gone into organising what turned out to be a wonderful celebration of a grassroots club.

With Commitee members and volunteers arriving early to set up tents, goals, pitches etc the days only uncertainty would be the weather, which thankfully held out (barring the last 30 mins!)

With a circuit set up applied to the events, all teams set up their pitches all around the field which saw everyone mixing together, showing what this club is all about.

The gallery below shows much of the days events, but keep checking back as there’s more to be added.

Under 10s through to Devon Futsal Finals

On Sunday 16th December Westexe U10s entered the FA Youth Futsal Cup and topped the group as the best team on the day!

With the maximum squad of players taken (10) and full squad rotation maintained throughout the day, 6 x 8 minute games were played against teams from the Exeter and District league East group.

As this was the U10s first experience of Futsal, the only intention of the coach was to see the team experiencing something new whilst looking at some fresh challenges. Needless to say the team far surpassed the expectation of every Westexe follower, topping the group unbeaten, drawing just 1 game!

More impressively however, not a single foul conceded and some excellent sportsmanship shown!

Westexe are now through to the Devon finals on Sunday 20th January which are being held at Paignton Academy. They will be facing teams. from the DJM, North Devon leagues etc.
