24/11/2018 – U12s 3-3 Crediton

Saturday 24/11/2018

Westexe U12s took part in a nail biting match against Crediton and had to share the points, drawing 3-3.
With the score level at half time, Westexe took the lead with a wonderfully executed goal which was chipped over the Crediton keeper from 15 yards.
Crediton responded thanks to a little help from the ref; a Westexe player was deemed to have put in a dangerous tackle in the home side penalty area and the spot kick converted to draw level.
A few minutes later a piece of tactical ingenuity from the sidelines saw change made which had immediate effect. No more than 30 seconds after the change a rocket shot from 20 yards out, flew into the Crediton net despite the keepers best efforts to save it.
Westexe were cruising…
Perhaps a little to much however as Crediton scored the next 2 thanks to sloppy defending from the blues, the Crediton third goal was converted just 4 minutes from time.
The game looked lost.
The last move of the game saw a hopeful long ball latched onto by the Westexe forward who managed to bundle the ball over the line to the sounds of cheers and the referees whistle blowing for time.

An entertaining match to watch with some positive free flowing football in the attacking third.
