Chairperson

Jaimie Sealey (Acting)

Jaimie has stepped into the role of Chairperson whilst the club searches for a permanent appointment.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for the club.
  • Oversee the work of the club committee.
  • Chair meetings of the club.
  • Advocate of the football club for the local community.
  • Does not vote on committee matters but has a casting vote, if vote is tied.

Secretary

Jo Partridge

Jo joined the West Exe committee as secretary in 2010 by default as she wasn’t at the meeting when she was elected. Football has always been part of Jo’s life even from an early age watching her dad and the brothers play for the local side. She works full-time as a Business Manager for Assisted Living South West, who enable disabled people to live in their own homes.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Official contact between club and County FA, leagues and other clubs.
  • Ensure club affiliation and league entries.
  • Contact for player ID cards.
  • Ensure effective correspondence and communications.
  • Provide minutes of meetings for official club records.
  • Organise and facilitate club meetings.
  • Support for managers and teams.
  • Provide appropriate paperwork for managers/coaches.
  • General administration and day to day running of the club.
  • Assists with recruitment of Committee members and new coaches and arranges guidance and support for them.

Treasurer

Hannah Martin

Hannah joined the committee in 2018 when taking over from the long serving Terry Gibson who was one of the clubs founding members.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer the finances of the club.
  • Create annual income and expenditure sheets and balance sheets.
  • Create and maintain a cash book for at least two years.
  • Ensure all payments and fines are paid and recorded on time.

Welfare Officer

Sara’s son joined West Exe in 2016 playing for the under 7s, and loves football. Sara has now developed a taste for football and due to this joined the committee in 2019. She works as a social worker and has lived in Exeter for the past 12 years. Sara enjoys going on family adventures and keeping warm pitch side.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • The club welfare officer has a specific role to safeguard children who are involved in football and activities organised by West Exe Youth Football Club.
  • Acts as a contact for any player, parent, helper or manager/coach to discuss any concerns that they may have regarding the welfare of children involved with the club.
  • Specific responsibility is arranging the CRCs for the club.
  • Raise the profile of safeguarding within the club, particularly in relation to helpers and specific concerns they may have.
  • Works with Chartered Standard Co-ordinator to ensure all training is maintained.
  • Updates the committee with new guidelines advised from the FA.

Vice Chair

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provides backup and deputises for chairperson in their absence.
  • Pitch Co-ordinator.
  • Allocate pitches to teams.
  • Communicating with teams where changes need to be made and remind them that rearrangements need to be made.
  • All relative pitch concerns.

Chartered Standard Co-ordinator

Jaimie is married to Mike, who currently runs the Under 13s and helps out with other teams whenever possible. She has three children: Hollie; Toby and Jack, who plays for the Under 13s. She has been a “West Exe Parent” for years and officially joined the Committee in 2014 as the Chartered Standard Officer. Although Jaimie never liked or understood football, her whole life now seems to consist of football as well as working full time as an accountant for a local forklift truck company.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • To complete and compile chartered standard application.
  • To maintain chartered standard status once obtained.
  • To help with committee meetings and associated meetings.
  • Oversee booking of courses for managers/coaches, which includes prompting managers/coaches when courses need renewing.
  • Works with Welfare Officer to ensure all members are trained correctly.

Head Coach

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist in recruiting new coaches and being their mentor.
  • Provide coaches with support and advice where necessary.
  • Establish and/or support a coach mentoring programme.
  • Ensure the coaches are up to date with new information.
  • Must be Level 2 Qualified.

Pitch Coordinator

  • Organise pitches for all teams
  • Ensure training slots have been booked  for all teams
  • Point of contact for all coaches/managers to arrange games/friendlies
