Thank you for supporting children and young people with cancer
It reads:
On behalf of everyone at CLIC Sargent I would like to thank you for everything you have done for CLIC Sargent in support of Harry. On average it costs £4,000 to support a family through a childhood cancer, therefore your donation could allow CLIC Sargent to support two families through a childhood cancer.
Simon, that is simply amazing!
Thank you so much, we are extremely grateful for everything.
All the best,
Jordan Anderton
Our donations to both CLIC Sargent and FORCE Cancer Charity were only made possible by your generosity, so once again: thank you all so much!
West Exe Youth Football Club will be presenting a cheque to FORCE Cancer Charity on Monday 19th September 2016 at 6:30pm at Cowick Barton Playing Fields.
We will present a similar cheque to CLIC Sargent in the near future [see update below].
We would like to invite all our players and coaches to attend, in full match kit please. We will have a photographer and are hopeful that the Express & Echo will cover the event.
Update 19th September 2016
Good news! As well as presenting a cheque to FORCE Cancer Charity we will now also be presenting a similar cheque to CLIC Sargent at the same time, 6:30pm today, Barton Fields!
As usual it was a fantastic night as we celebrated our club’s successes, and presented trophies to all our players – and some committee members.
Our head coach Simon Partridge was awarded both Outstanding Contribution and Club Person of the Year. This was in no small part down to the huge amount of work that Simon put in to our charity day in May, held at Tedburn St. Mary Football Club. This was in addition to the Volunteer of the Year award that Simon received in June from the Devon FA.
Harry Endicott was awarded Young Club Person of the Year, a new award that in future will be awarded following nominations and votes from the players.
As well as handing out the awards to Simon and Harry, our chairman Duncan Worthington, with the help of the charity day treasurer Sean Partridge, announced the full amount raised by our charity day. That being:
£18,859
We cannot thank you all enough! Through the hard work and generosity of the club’s parents and friends we will be able to help both FORCE Cancer Charity and CLIC Sargent more than we ever thought possible! You are all amazing!
A few days have passed since the West Exe Charity Football Day held in association with CLIC Sargent and FORCE and we will all have had a chance to reflect on what a wonderful day it was. The sun shone (some of the time), people arrived in droves and everyone seemed to have a great time. The day surpassed all expectations and went off, seemingly, without a hitch and the only main worry was whether we could fit all the cars in the field.
West Exe Charity Day, 22nd May 2016, Tedburn St Mary Football Club
There are far too many people to thank individually, but I would like to express my personal gratitude to each and everyone one of you who contributed to the success of the day and giving up your precious time to ensure it ran smoothly. Thank you, it could not have been done without you all. In particular though I would like to thank Tedburn St Mary FC for so generously throwing their doors open to us and giving us such a warm welcome.
A special mention has to go to Simon and Jo Partridge, without them the day would not have happened and I know they expelled blood, sweat and tears in making the day happen. I would also like to mention the Endicott family, who put their hearts and soles into the planning, preparation and execution of the event, the bravery they all have shown has been epic. All those who worked in the refreshments tent worked tirelessly throughout the day. Finally, I would like to mention the Fez Army, never have I seen a BBQ run so well, such hard work was put in.
I hope you have all walked a little taller this week knowing what fantastic efforts you all put in over the weekend.
Thanks need to also go to all our special guests, but particularly Mike Mullarkey, who really got into the spirit of the day and helped make the coaches match one that none of us will forget.
We will do a similar event again (probably not next year though) and therefore any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated, whether it is what you enjoyed or what we could do better.
I am so very proud of what the West Exe YFC family has achieved along with our partners from FORCE and CLIC Sargent.
We have bothLee Holmes, recently voted the fans’ player of the season for 2015/16, and Christy Pym, city ‘keeper and three-time England U20 international, attending the day. Christy was a West Exe Youth Football Club player before he joined Exeter City.
The two Exeter City players join international assistant referee Mike Mullarkey on our list of special guests for the day.
Mike will be refereeing our Heroes vs Villians coaches game, while Lee and Christy will be available for photographs and autographs; we may even persuade them to either take, or face, a few penalties during our Guinness world record attempt.
We hope you will all join us in thanking all our guests for giving up their time to support FORCE, CLIC Sargent, and our own football club.
